Karl Dixon

I'm Karl Dixon is the first winner of Black2Broadway's talent search where he won the title of "Most Exciting New Artist."  He starred in "The Ray of Light", a musical tribute to Ray Charles at Resorts International in Atlantic City as well as the Cabaret Theatre at the Mohegan Sun Hotel in Connecticut.  For the last ten years he has toured the world as a featured soloist with the Harlem Jubilee Singers which has included appearances at Italy's Umbria Jazz Festival and France's  Jazz a Vienne festival where he performed Duke Ellington's "Freedom Suite" with the Laurent Mignard Ellington Orchestra. Last year he appeared as Sportin' Life in excerpts from Porgy and Bess at Teatro Muncipal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as well as the Festival Cervantino in Mexico. Other appearances include The Casa de Musica, Sociedad Filarmonica in Quito, Ecuador and the Bibiloteca Luis Angel Arango in Bogota,Columbia.  He will be appearing next month at the Festival de Jazz de Victoria in Spain.

He has also been a Professor of Dental Anatomy and Clinical Dental Hygiene at New York University's College of Dentistry for the past 15 years as worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist
